Single-Use Plastics Prohibited in Tizit Sub-Division Starting September 2025

Tizit,Nagaland. August 22:

In line with a government directive issued on July 20, 2024, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Tizit, Relise Sangtam, has announced that a complete ban on single-use plastics will come into effect across Tizit sub-division from September 1, 2025.
The restriction covers all single-use plastic items, including carry bags of any thickness, size, or colour, as well as plastic water bottles below one-litre capacity, the official notification stated.
To ensure compliance, enforcement teams will carry out regular inspections. Offenders will face a fine of Rs 10,000 for the first violation and Rs 20,000 for the second. Persistent violators risk cancellation of their trade licenses.
Calling for public cooperation, the ADC encouraged residents to switch to eco-friendly alternatives and play an active role in making Tizit a cleaner, healthier, and environmentally sustainable region.
