Longding, January 24:

In anticipation of the festival scheduled for January 30–31 at Longding, the Headhunters Motorcycle Club, in collaboration with the District Administration and Police Department, organized a promotional motorcycle ride for the Undergrounds VIII Edition.

Deputy Commissioner Shri Kunal Yadav, IAS, Superintendent of Police Shri Dekiyo Gumja, and ADC Kanubari Shri Yaswant Meena, IAS joined the 20-rider convoy from Longding to Kaimoi village under Longchan block. Kaimoi village, an emerging tourism destination recently recognized as the Best Tourism Village in Arunachal Pradesh and the Cleanest Village in Longding district, was the destination of the ride.

Undergrounds, now in its eighth edition, has evolved into a significant rider-centric festival in the Northeast. It is considered the second-largest motorcycle gathering in the region, following the North East Riders Meet (NERM). Over 1,000 riders from across the country have registered for this year’s edition.

The Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police also inspected the venue of Undergrounds VIII and reviewed the preparations on the ground. District authorities assured logistical and administrative support to ensure the successful execution of the festival.

Undergrounds has played a crucial role in elevating Northeast’s prominence on the national riding and tourist circuit. It has provided a platform for motorcycling culture and inadvertently fostered local tourism, cultural exchanges, and small-scale economic development. With excitement building for the upcoming edition, organizers are optimistic that the event will further enhance Longding’s standing among riders and tourists from across India.

Following the ride, the Chief of the Headhunters Motorcycle Club expressed his gratitude to the district leadership. He particularly acknowledged the dynamic efforts of the Deputy Commissioner, the Superintendent of Police, and the ADC Kanubari.
