The Attack
Witnesses say the shooter entered the school chapel around 9 a.m. as students gathered for prayer. Shots were fired indiscriminately, causing chaos as children and teachers scrambled for safety.
Emergency responders arrived within minutes, but two children succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Seventeen others, including several students, are being treated at local hospitals.

National Response
President Joe Biden condemned the attack in a statement from the White House, calling it “a heartbreaking reminder of why the fight for safer schools cannot wait.” Federal assistance has been pledged to support victims and families.
Community members held a candlelight vigil outside the school Thursday night, with parents and faith leaders calling for urgent reforms in gun control and school security.
“This community will never be the same,” said Father Mark Jensen, the parish priest. “But we must ensure that such violence never happens again.”
The shooting adds to the growing list of school tragedies in the United States, renewing urgent calls for legislative action.
