Chief Minister Pema Khandu welcomed the development, noting that the additional service will “boost tourism, trade, and connectivity, while making travel easier for citizens of Arunachal Pradesh.” Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein also praised the move, saying it will bring the frontier state closer to the national capital and open wider opportunities for residents.

IndiGo already operates one direct daily flight on this route. The second service is expected to ease travel congestion, offer greater flexibility for passengers, and further strengthen the state’s links with the rest of India.

With Arunachal Pradesh steadily gaining recognition as a tourist destination, improved air connectivity is set to play a vital role in the state’s economic and cultural integration with the country.
