Army, ITBP Wrap Up ‘Achook Prahar’ Joint Drill in Arunachal

Itanagar, Aug 30:
The Indian Army and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) successfully completed their high-altitude joint exercise, ‘Achook Prahar,’ in Arunachal Pradesh this week, showcasing integrated combat preparedness along the eastern frontier.
The four-day exercise, held between August 25–28, featured live-fire drills, mountain warfare maneuvers, and joint command simulations. Defence officials said the exercise was designed to strengthen interoperability in difficult terrain that mirrors real-world operational challenges.
The timing of the drill

just days before Prime Minister Modi’s upcoming visit to China—underscores India’s strategy of pursuing diplomatic engagement backed by a posture of military readiness.
Eastern Air Command leaders also reviewed aerial support readiness in Shillong, signaling a multi-pronged security focusacross the Northeast.
